This work contains eight lectures on various aspects of Prophet Muhammad’s life. These lectures were delivered in October and November 1925 in Madras, hence the book is popularly known in Urdu as Khutbat-e Madras (Madras Lectures). Its author was a student of Allama Shibli Nu’mani and completed most parts of the legendary and unsurpassed Urdu biography of the Prophet, Siratun Nabi, in seven volumes, that he started.
The book is a distillation of the author’s vast study of the Prophet’s life from original sources. It was received warmly and gained popularity equally in religious and modern circles and continues to be a very popular book on Sirah among Urdu readers.
