The All India Muslim Majlis-e Mushawarat, or Mushawarat for short, emerged half a century ago in very difficult times when communal riots had engulfed many parts of north India and some Muslims had started even leaving the country in despair. In those difficult times, some selfless leaders of the community from all over the country came together, discussed and formed a common platform for all Muslims, to think, guide and interact with the forces in society. This book sheds lights on the extraordinary lives of those stalwarts and their followers who kept the flames burning and still manage to keep that common platform intact and strong giving voice to the community nationally and internationally.
