Syed Sulaiman Nadwi
SYED SULAIMAN NADWI (1884-1953) established and nurtured Darul Musannifin Shibli Academy in Azamgarh according to the blueprint left behind by his mentor Allama Shibli Nu'mani. Nadwi was among the top Indian Muslim scholars of the twentieth century. He left behind dozens of scholarly works on religious, literary, historical and biographical themes, some of which have been translated into other Indian and foreign languages. After Partition, he migrated to Pakistan where he headed the Taleemat-e Islami Board created to advise on the Islamic aspects of Pakistan's constitution.
